Emma López Bahut


PhD from the University of A Coruña (Spain), specialty in Architectural Design, 2013: “Oteiza and the architectural. From the mass-sculpture to the urban space (1948-1960)]”.

Diploma of Advanced Studies in Architecture in the Doctoral Programme from the University of Navarra (Spain), 2007.

Master´s Degree in Architectural Design, University of Navarra (Spain), 2004

BA in Architecture, specialty in Urbanism in the School of Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), 2002

Since 2009 she lectures Architectural Design at the School of Architecture in the University of A Coruña (UDC), coordinating the subjects of the Department for second year graduates since 2015. She also teaches at the “Juana de Vega’s Master degree in Architecture of the Landscape (UDC; USC and Foundation Juana de Vega), and previously in the Master degree in Healthcare and Welfare Architecture (2013, UDC).

She is co-editor of the scientific magazine BAc Academic bulletin. Research and Contemporary Architecture Magazine, School of Architecture,University of A Coruña

Research areas

Currently working on two lines of research: “Space, Art and Architecture”, focused mainly in the sculptor Jorge Oteiza. Secondly, her research interest focused on “bottom-up” processes in the field of architecture, covering their different spatial scales: from landscape to housing.
