Nachatter Singh Kaur


Holds a PhD in Demography from the Centre for Demographic Studies and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with the highest qualification (Excellent/A), Cum-Laude Mention, and international doctoral research component.

He is currently employed as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of A Coruña, Spain.

He is working on an EU‑funded Horizon Europe project, TRIGGER: SoluTions foR mItiGatinG climate-induced hEalth thReats, which studies the impact of climate change on health.

In the last five years, he has worked on two EU-funded projects and three I+D+i projects funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Spain.

In addition, he participated as a senior researcher in two national projects (HOPES and SUSTAINLIS) funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, Lisbon, Portugal.

He has published 16 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, three book chapters, four articles in different conference proceedings, three technical reports and policy briefs, four posters, and three articles in the CED working paper series. His ongoing research is focused on issues related to migration, housing, energy transition, climate change, health, and gender relations.

He is a member of the scientific committees of three international peer-reviewed journals: Diaspora Studies, Journal of Migration and Integration, and Sustainability.
